Survival as such is a game you play every day. From the moment you wake up and make your breakfast, to the moment you close your eyes to sleep, you play that game. Many of the tasks you accomplish in between those two events are designed to help you LIVE TODAY.
It is a game of chess, where you are pitted against the enemy of the entire Creation - the Uncertainty. How you deal with the enemy, by and large determines whether you will get to play the game again tomorrow morning. It is said that chance favors the prepared mind - this is true. But chance favors the prepared mind, body, and spirit a whole lot more.
Almost everything the human race has ever done has to do with preparation for the battle with The Uncertainty. Unlikely? Try this on for size: did you wash your hands after going to the bathroom today? I would like to think you did. Why? Because others (not you!) are filthy slobs who will pass the zombie plague on to you first chance they get. So, you diminish that chance by washing your hands... We will take it a step further, all the way to the ancient times, where the city walls were built to... what? ... increase the chances of survival of the inhabitants within, because they were not certain that the neighbors were friendly! When the survival game started long ago, our ancestors made spears, hunted, made clothes, dug wells and gathered medicinal herbs. And most of all, they passed their knowledge on, to give their descendants a leg up.
This is the purpose of this website - to pass on what we can to you, and to learn what we can from you. Please, read on, enjoy, and if you are so inclined - correct us, contribute and SURVIVE!
